INTRODUCTION






Vedavyasa Institute of technology is started and is governed by the Vedavyasa trust. The founder Chairman V.Vijayakumaran Nair is a Civil Engineer by profession and an Educationist governing One more well established institution namely, Calicut Institute of Engineering and Technology,
Institution has evolved as a unique educational program blending futuristic needs, development skills that are instrumental in facing present day job requirements and also for the students personal benefits. With our state-of-the-art infrastructure, the students will be acclimatized to proficient work culture and emerge as well- rounded professionals that the industry desires to have.
Higher Education has an independent as well as instrumental value, i.e the purpose of higher education must be to rationalize attitudes as well as to impart knowledge and skills. Quality education should orient national development that should aim at training the younger generation the life skills, self-reliance, personality development, community service and social integration. Vedavyasa Institute of Technology have inherited these principles in addition to the expertise teaching that promises to give our students a unique opportunity to develop knowledge and hone their skills



College facilities.

1. Hostel Facilities
Hostel for both boys and girls separately is provided inside the college campus. Bathrooms are not attached. Food will be available at college canteen. Per head Rs. 30,000/- is charged per year including food and accomodation. 4 students in a room is encouraged. Hostel warden will be a staff incharge who is staying in the hostel. Girl students are allowed to enter the hostels till 6.30 P.M. Boys can enter upto 8.00 P.M. Daily attendance is marked in the hostel.

2. Canteen Facilitites
A canteen ifunctioning inside the college campus for serving days scholar students, hostelers and staff. Pure Vegetarian food is served with love.

3. Transport Facilitites
The college is running 5 buses from many part of the Calicut city and from Ramanattukkara.



ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY.

The University of Calicut, the second university to be set up in Kerala, came into being in 1968 with the objective of developing human resources in the northern districts of Kerala by extending the reach of higher education and by promoting research in all areas of development with particular emphasis on technology and art and culture of Kerala.The University made the beginning by taking into its fold the four postgraduate departments set up by the University of Kerala at Calicut and 54 constituent colleges spread across seven northern districts. With ‘Nirmaya Karmana Sree’ as it motto, the University has surmounted challenges to emerge as the largest residential cum affiliating University in Kerala. Its 31 post graduate departments and 304 affiliated colleges have now become a veritable light house beckoning lakhs of young men and women to benefit from higher education.The University of Calicut came into being as a result of the foresightedness of the visionary leards like C.H. Mohammed Koya, C. Achutha Menon, and K.P. Kesava Monon who are no more with us now. They realised that the Kerala University centres at Cochin and Calicut were inadequate for a balanced growth of the higher education in Kerala.They wanted new universities, in particular, a full fledged University which could open the doors of higher education to the youth of northern Kerala. At this juncture, matters took a turn for the better. The late C.H. Mohammed Koya, for whom setting up Calicut University was more than a cherished dream, became the Kerala Education Minister.
